On this piece above the hand is written the Inuktitut alphabet.

Manasie is trying convey, the importance of preserving the Inuktitut language, both oral and written . He stresses “our language tells us who we are! “ The word inside the mouth on the face says “ata”  translated is “listen up”

He wants the Inuit people to realize the importance of keeping their language.

Manasie is fluent in his language, oral and written. He speaks the the youth in his community about how he feels about the language issue and encourages them to keep speaking and writing in Inuktitut
